Amsterdam Lights and Canals

After watching The Fault in Our Stars, I told myself I’ll go to Amsterdam in the future. Amsterdam just seems so beautiful, don’t you think so? Who can’t resist those charming architecture, colorful houses, and beautiful canals? I simply couldn’t so I just had to go!

Amsterdam have been featured in different movies and while I was there, I saw it for myself why. Amsterdam has a lot of scenic spots. Unfortunately, I arrived in Amsterdam at night and I was only there for 2 days. I wish I could have stayed longer to take more photos.

It was also the first time that I took the metro in Europe. Back in United States, I have a car so I drive everywhere. I never used public transportation before and it was definitely an experience. We almost missed the last train too! Haha.

Also, there are so MANY people who bike in Amsterdam! They have a bike lane too! Be careful when crossing! You don’t want to look like a tourist, right?

Amsterdam is definitely the “Venice of the North” because of its beautiful canals. People use the canals for transportation, recreation, and even for habitation! Yes! There are people who have a boat house! They can cost higher than a normal house too especially if you are “parked” in the tourist canals. It’s so funny to see a postman bringing mails to the people who live in the boat. Fascinating!

We also had a boat-picnic which made my experience of the canal even more exciting! How lovely!

I am actually going to be in Amsterdam in the next couple weeks but only for couple hours!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Haha! It really did sound like a good experience on public transport! Two days is better than no days when you are traveling to a country in my opinion. I’d always like to get out of the airport and experience a country, even if it’s just for a day 🙂
